Venturing Crew 911
Learn Skills That Save Lives
A youth-led Venturing Crew offering American Red Cross certified training in first aid, emergency response, and wilderness medicine.
Since 1990, the NBO Scout Training Team has trained over 30,000 Scouts, Venturers, and adult leaders — with over a dozen recognized by the American Red Cross and BSA for extraordinary acts of heroism.
Our Training Programs
Crew 911 offers advanced certification courses taught at cost, focused on building real emergency response skills. Open to youth ages 14 and older and their adult leaders.
Emergency Medical Response & Lifeguarding
An advanced track covering EMR, lifeguarding, BLS, emergency oxygen, and more. Runs Sundays during the first few months of the year.
Wilderness & Remote First Aid
Prepares participants to manage emergencies in remote environments where professional help may be hours away. Meets BSA requirements for high adventure bases including Philmont.
First Aid & CPR/AED
Foundational life-saving skills aligned with American Red Cross standards. A prerequisite for WaRFA and recommended for all crew members.
How Training Works
Hands-On Practice
Skills are learned through repetition and realistic scenario work, not lectures.
Certified Instruction
All training is delivered by authorized American Red Cross instructors and leads to nationally recognized certifications.
Youth-Led
Advanced members progress into instructor roles, mentoring the next generation of responders and building real leadership experience.
Beyond The Woodlands
The NBO Scout Training Team supports the BSA and American Red Cross national training agreement. We have assisted dedicated volunteers across the country in establishing American Red Cross based training programs for Scouts, and offer instructor-level training for all our program areas.
Crew 911 has been recognized in Scouting Magazine, the NESA Eagletter, and at the BSA University of Scouting for the unique service we provide to Scouting and our community.
